EVERMAN - The Everman Bulldogs and Keller Timber Creek Falcons had their final tuneup before the start of the 2013 season at Marr Stadium on Friday night. It's quite likely both defensive staffs will not enjoy watching the film in the morning as both offenses were highly productive as big plays were in abundance.
Everman's defense which features five juniors and four sophomores starting got a lesson today as they struggled with missed assignments and missed tackles all day long. Timber Creek's number one offense scored three times on their first drive and potentially could have had a fourth score had it not been for a fumble inside the Everman ten yard line. RB Amon Lindsey was the main culprit has he caught a screen pass, broke one tackle and sprinted down the sideline for a 70 yard catch and run to highlight the Falcons offensive series.
Everman's first offense scored twice, both on runs by Darell Parks from 70 and 20 yards out. Sophomore RB Kierre Crossley didn't have much room to work but when he did he showed great lateral quickness and good strength. Everman's second offense did manage one score as sophomore QB Michael Boone tossed a 70 yard touchdown pass. Timber Creek's second offense failed to score in their series.
The two first offenses traded scores on their next series as Lindsey scored on a five yard run for TCHS, while senior QB Reggie Kincade scored on a one yard run for Everman. The second offenses for both sides also scored once as well, Everman backup fullback junior Keith Sitton scored on a long 65 yard run where he showed great speed.
Timber Creek came out ahead in the live quarter 14-6, the Falcons after stopping Everman on their series faced a 3rd and 14 on their own 45. They leaked Lindsey out of the backfield and he was all alone behind the Everman defense for a 65 yard touchdown reception. Everman came out and on the first play had an interception, which the Falcons quickly converted into another score and 14-0 edge. Everman's offense responded with a nice drive of their own scoring on a 22 yard run by Sitton to cap the scoring.
Keller Timber Creek will open the 2013 season at home next week against Trophy Club Nelson, while Everman will travel to Sweetwater to take on El Paso Del Valle in a neutral site matchup.
