November 6, 2009 Special for TheOldCoach Talk about it in the Message Boards In the big crosstown rivalry, Denton Ryan quarterback Scotty Young threw for 297 yards and the Raider defense held Denton Guyer to one touchdown in the second half in the 50-29 victory. Guyer, which came into the game as the No. 2-ranked 4A team in the state, watched the Raiders score on six of their last eight possessions. "They just settled down out there," said Ryan head coach Joey Florence. "It was a big game, and Guyer came in with a lot of energy. Those things are going to happen, but I'm proud of all of these guys. They stayed calm no matter what." Denton Record Chronicle
